Jay Leno was born in New Rochelle, New York, on April 28, 1950, and spent his formative years in Andover, Massachusetts.

He graduated from Emerson College with a bachelor’s in speech therapy before opening a comedy club there in 1973.

Leno according to news flying around had to be treated at a hospital for some severe burns he suffered in a car fire in November 2022.

The accident happened in his garage while he was mucking around in one of his cars. It caught fire and burnt one side of his face. Fortunately, enough most of his vital organs like his eyes and ears were not affected.

His doctors in an update to the press while he was hospitalized stated: “After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest, and hands he received during a fire at his home garage.”
