Jatavia Shakara Johnson, also known by her stage name JT, is an American rapper and songwriter. She was born on December 3, 1992, in Liberty City, Miami, Florida. JT is best known as one-half of the rap duo City Girls, which was formed in 2017.
JT began her music career by uploading her songs to social media platforms, such as SoundCloud and YouTube. She gained popularity and caught the attention of Quality Control Music, a record label based in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2018, she and her City Girls partner, Yung Miami, released their debut studio album “Period,” which received critical acclaim.
