Jason Andrew Pierre-Paul, an American football outside linebacker with the National Football League’s Baltimore Ravens, was born on January 1, 1989.

Jean and Marie, immigrants from Haiti who came to the country in 1983, gave birth to Pierre-Paul in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Four years of Pierre-Paul’s time at Deerfield Beach High School was devoted to basketball. In his junior year, he began playing football after suffering a severe leg injury while playing basketball.

In the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected him out of South Florida’s collegiate football program.

When playing for the Giants, Pierre-Paul was a first-team All-Pro, a member of two Pro Bowls, and the Super Bowl XLVI champion over the New England Patriots. Pierre-Paul played in his third Pro Bowl and won Super Bowl LV while playing for the Buccaneers.
