American actor Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa was born on August 1, 1979.

He made his acting debut as Jason Ioane on the action drama series Baywatch: Hawaii, which aired on syndication from 1999 to 2001.

He then played the roles of Ronon Dex on the Syfy science fiction series Stargate Atlantis (2005–2009), Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2011–2012), Declan Harp on the Discovery Channel historical drama series Frontier (2016–2018), and Baba Voss on the Apple TV+ science (2019–2022). In the two most recent series, Momoa served as the protagonist.

Momoa has been playing Arthur Curry / Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) since 2016. He first made a brief cameo appearance in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), then he starred in Justice League (2017) and its 2021 director’s cut, starred in the titular 2018 film and its 2023 sequel, and made a brief appearance in the TV series Peacemaker (2022-present). In the 2021 film adaptation of the science fiction book Dune, Momoa also as Duncan Idaho.

Momoa won the Risin  Star Award in 2011.

Momoa was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role at the Canadian Film Awards in 2017.

He has also gone on to win multiple awards such as the Golden Reel Awards for Feature Film – Music, Costume Designers Guild Awards for Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy. The  SXSW Film Design Award, for Excellence in Title Design, the Kids’ Choice Awards, 23 March 2019 for Favorite Film.

He has an endless list of nominations and awards, fans are positive there are going to be more in 2023.
