Jarvis Cocker is a British musician, singer-songwriter, and frontman of the band Pulp. Born on September 19, 1963, in Sheffield, England, Cocker formed Pulp in the late 1970s with a group of schoolmates.

Pulp initially gained a cult following in the 1980s with their idiosyncratic blend of post-punk and pop, but it was not until the mid-1990s that they achieved mainstream success with their album “Different Class,” which featured the hit singles “Common People” and “Disco 2000.”
