Brtish-born Branthwaite has been all over the headlines after his latest move away from the premier league. Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has joined PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan.

In January 2020, the 20-year-old joined the Toffees from League Two club Carlisle, his hometown club.

He has made 13 first-team appearances for Everton, scoring a goal, and signed a new contract with the club in December that will keep him there until 2025.

Last season, PSV finished second to Ajax in the Eredivisie and qualified for the Champions League.

PSV qualified for the Champions League after finishing two points behind Ajax in the Eredivisie. One of the main reasons they fell short was conceding 42 goals in 34 games, which Branthwaite’s arrival should help to address.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, a former Manchester United and Netherlands striker, took over as head coach of the Dutch team in March.

After his appointment, Frank Lampard used Branthwaite sparingly. Last season, he appeared in six Premier League games, as well as one League Cup and one FA Cup game.
