The ex-wife of former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams was sentenced to a year in prison for snatching handbags from attendees at private gatherings she invaded.
Jane Shea, 47, has now committed 28 offences, most of which were done to support her drug habit, which one ex-boyfriend said cost her £250,000 each year when they were together.
She was imprisoned alongside accomplice Vannessa Joseph, 33, a fellow occupant of shared property in Islington, north London, a far cry from her former footballer’s wife lifestyle.
Shea pleaded guilty to taking a £200 purse carrying a £300 iPod from the neighbouring Archway Leisure Centre on November 17, last year, which had been reserved for a small boy’s birthday party.
Both pleaded guilty to stealing from the Carpenter’s Arms bar in Fitzrovia on January 25, when Shea took a guest’s purse and Joseph stole an iPhone from a private party.
The Eastender married Adams, 45, at a large country mansion in July 1992, and the pair had a son, Oliver, 22, and a daughter, Amber, 18.
