McNeill was playing in a local production, “The Hallelujah Girls,” when she received an email giving her a three-episode tryout for The Walking Dead’s second season. She tried out for the role of Patricia.
McNeill found out three weeks later, the day before a family trip to New York City, that the job was up for grabs between her and another actor. McNeill found out she had acquired the component shortly after her aircraft landed in New York the next day.
McNeill’s three-episode stint was stretched to encompass the whole second season. From July to November 2011, she recorded episodes of The Walking Dead every two weeks.
