Jamila Abdallah Taha al-Shanti, born in 1955, is a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council. She was an English PhD candidate. Jamila Abdallah Taha al-Shanti was a key member of the Islamist group Hamas.
Jamila al-Shanti was a Hamas member who formed the organization for women. She was the most senior female Hamas delegate chosen in 2006, coming in third place. She was the widow of Hamas co-founder Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi, who was assassinated in April 2004 by Israel.
She taught at the Islamic University of Gaza. Jamila Abdallah Taha al-Shanti was killed in an airstrike during the 2023 Israel-Hamas conflict.
