Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is to blame for their 4-0 thrashing at Brentford, according to Jamie Redknapp.

Within the opening 45 minutes of the game, Josh Dasilva, Ben Mee, Bryan Mbuemo, and Mathias Jensen all scored past a hapless David de Gea, absolutely dismantling the Red Devils.

Redknapp argues that Ten Hag committed mistakes at the Gtech Community Stadium, despite the fact that United players made mistakes that led to some of these goals.

Redknapp said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a half quite like this,” when speaking to Sky Sports at halftime. Simply put, Brentford has outperformed United. Someone needs to accept accountability. Martinez won’t be able to compete in this league, he subsequently stated. He may be fine in the Dutch league, but this is where every flaw you have gets exposed. Last week, he used Eriksen as a false nine; this week, he uses him as a deep-lying midfielder.

The fact that Eriksen was fouled by Mathias Jensen on the outskirts of his own area and subsequently capitalized by scoring the Bees’ second goal vindicated Redknapp’s criticism of the Danish forward.

Redknapp also targeted Lisandro Martinez, a recent addition to United who was easily outmuscled for the ball in Ben Mee’s goal.

At halftime, when Ten Hag tried to get back into the game, the Argentinean defender was hooked; at that point, Redknapp said Martinez is “not strong enough.”
