As of April 25, 2022, Elon Musk’s offer to buy out Twitter for $44 billion was unanimously accepted by the Twitter board of directors.
Though this no doubt makes Musk happy, many celebrities are not happy about it, even to the point of threatening to leave the social media platform.
It seems those threats were not just empty threats. The Good Place actress, Jameela Jamil, has officially left the platform.
In her final tweet, she said under pictures of her posing with her dog, “Ah he got twitter. I would like this to be what lies here as my last tweet. Just really *any* excuse to show pics of Barold. I fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck.”
