On Sunday, February 25, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, is scheduled to make a working visit to Damongo. The Jakpa Palace and Gonjaland are getting ready to greet him with great enthusiasm.
After witnessing Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale I’s outdooring as the Overlord of Gonja around a year ago, this will be the former president’s first visit to Jakpa Palace.
In honor of him, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunutu Jewu Soale I has invited all paramount chiefs, divisional chiefs, sub-chiefs, and traditional leaders of all the tribes in the Savannah Region to attend a durbar where Mr. Mahama would speak.
In addition, he has scheduled meetings with trade associations and professional groups in Larabanga and the Damongo truck stop.
The Savannah Region is buzzing with excitement over John Mahama’s visit to Damongo, and many people are gearing up to join their chiefs in extending a huge welcome to him upon his return.
