Hasim Rahman Jr. will be Jake Paul’s next opponent on August 6 at Madison Square Garden.
Rahman Jr. is coming off his first career loss, a TKO setback to James McKenzie Morrison in April.
Hasim Rahman Jr. is the son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, who knocked out Lennox Lewis to win the WBC, IBF, and IBO titles in 2001.
Paul, a social media sensation with over 20 million YouTube subscribers, is 5-0 in his brief boxing career. Last December, he defeated former UFC champion Tyron Woodley for the second time in a row. He also defeated former UFC fighter Ben Askren, NBA Slam Dunk champion Nate Robinson, and YouTuber AnEsonGib.
Paul was set to face Tommy Fury, the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, but his opponent was denied entrance into the United States from the United Kingdom.
In response to the setback in their efforts to face each other, Paul furiously tweeted: ‘Tommy, no matter how hard you try to get out of this fight, I’m going to do everything in my power to not let you weasel your way out.
‘My team and my partners have made clear the steps you need to take to solve your latest excuse. Take them or admit you’re a scared little b****.’
