Reality TV actress Jade Goody, who received a cervical cancer diagnosis last year, has passed away, according to her publicist.
The 27-year-old, who was diagnosed with cancer in August while participating in the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss, passed away in her sleep at her Upshire, Essex, home at 3.14 in the morning, according to Max Clifford.
The leader of the tributes to Goody was the prime minister, who praised her bravery and the manner she spread cancer awareness.
Goody’s mother Jackiey Budden and husband Jack Tweed, according to Clifford, were by her side when she passed away. Kevin Adams, a family acquaintance, was also present. Budden phoned Clifford to let him know that his lovely daughter was at rest.
Goody received radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but in February she was informed the disease had spread to other organs and that she had a limited amount of time left to live. The prognosis prompted her to pursue a series of media deals estimated to be worth £1 million in an effort to protect the financial future of her two young sons, Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 4.
