Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern born on July 26, 1980, is a politician from New Zealand who has been the Labour Party’s leader and the country’s 40th prime minister since 2017. She is a Labour Party supporter and has served as the Mount Albert MP since 2017.

Ardern declared on January 19, 2023, that she would step down as Labour leader and prime minister on February 7, subject to a leadership election.

Ardern was raised in New Zealand as a member of The Religion of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but she left the church in 2005 when she was 25 because, according to her, it went against her personal beliefs, particularly her support for LGBT rights.

Ardern declared she was agnostic in January 2017 and added, “I can’t see myself being a member of an organized religion again.” She first met Russell M. Nelson, the head of the LDS Church, while she was prime minister in 2019.

Jacinda Ardern house: Where does Jacinda Ardern live?

The official residence of the Prime Minister of New Zealand is known as Premier House, and it is situated at 260 Tinakori Road in Thorndon, Wellington.

When the government moved its headquarters to Wellington in 1865, a private house was bought for the prime minister to live in as his official residence.

After being significantly expanded, as its wooden structure deteriorated, it was shunned in the 1930s by the more conservative political leaders after learning the cost of repairs.

In the late 1890s, it was leased to private individuals for six years before being used once more as the prime minister’s official residence up until the Great Depression, when a new administration in 1935 wanted to avoid “show.”

The structure served as a pediatric dentistry clinic for more than 50 years before being rebuilt and given new life as Premier House in 1990.
