Ivor Doble, the former chairman of Exeter City, died at the age of 96.
He was a long-time Grecians fan who rose through the ranks to become the club’s chairman in 1985, a post he held for 17 years.
During World War II, Mr Doble established a jewellery company in the city’s Sidwell Street, close to the Grecians’ home, St James Park.
He worked till he was 90 years old.
Since then, the Doble family has opened businesses in a variety of locales, including Brixham and a second Exeter branch on Sidwell Street.
