Joe Ghartey, a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has stated that he has no intention of running for Vice President.
Ghartey was one of ten candidates who filed last year to run for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position.
Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, has yet to officially announce his running mate after being granted an extension for the selection process in December.
Speaking to Caleb Ahinakwah on TownHall Talk on Asaase 99.5 on Friday (9 February), Ghartey stated that he is open to any position offered to him by Bawumi.
“Listen, I don’t want to be vice president.” “I will discuss any position offered to me by Dr. Bawumia,” Ghartey explained.
