Sista Afia, a Ghanaian singer, has expressed her displeasure with the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) for what she calls unjust treatment.
The artist said that for numerous years, the conspiracy had insulted her work and craft.
In a Facebook post, she questioned whether she had offended anybody enough to deserve the unjust treatment she had received.
She described how, in 2021, her huge single ‘Asuoden’ was overlooked despite its success in the music industry at the time.
She also couldn’t comprehend why people who didn’t file their work were nominated in categories while others who did were not.
She wrote, “Have I offended anyone at the Ghana Music Awards’ high table?” I still don’t understand why Asuoden, a popular song in 2021, received no nominations. I discovered that people do not even file for nominations, but rather get nominations.
The criticism of my efforts since I began playing music in Ghana has not been fair to my trade, and it hurts since I work so hard. I’ve been silent for so long because I respect the system and don’t want to step on anyone’s toes.”
