It’s time Ghanaians appreciate and support their own artistes

This is an opinion I shared yesterday on my Facebook account and I decided to share with you.

It reads: It’s quite unfortunate the way some Nigerians disrespect top Ghanaian artistes.

The last time your Wizkid came to Ghana to perform was at the VGMAs, and the truth is, he flopped. He came on stage lip-syncing on his own records and singing off keys before bringing Mr Eazi on stage to even make matters worse.
But we kept mute and acted as if his performance was the best on the night. That is respect and maturity.

We can criticise internally, but let’s not join those outside our home to mock what we own. – David Mawuli

I watched some part of his performance at the just ended One Africa Music Fest and he did the same – so boring performance. But some Nigerians who even weren’t present at the show were talking trash – and the worst thing is, some Ghanaians joined them to push their agenda.
Who the hell is Wizkid’s too? Shatta Wale’s voice is even better than his. Without autotune, he can’t sing. I don’t even know what’s special about him? Maybe his beat making but not his voice.
If I continue typing, I will make your day a ‘very’ bad one.

Let’s support what belongs to us, fellow Ghanaians. We can criticise internally, but let’s not join those outside our home to mock what we own.
