‘It’s a privilege to be part of your education’ – Laryea Kingston to Black Starlets players

Former Black Stars player Laryea Kingston has expressed his pride in contributing to the development of the current Black Starlets players. Kingston recently resigned as the head coach of the team following their 1-2 defeat to Burkina Faso in the WAFU B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The decision to step down came as a surprise, especially since Ghana still had a game left to play in the competition. Despite the early exit from the tournament, Kingston stood by his choice to resign, with reasons to be disclosed later.

In a heartwarming gesture, Kingston took to his WhatsApp status to share his appreciation for the players he had worked with. “Love you guys so much son,” he wrote, showing his affection for the team.

The captain of the Black Starlets, Benjamin Tsivanyo, reciprocated the sentiment by responding, “Much love father,” accompanied by a picture of himself and Kingston.

Ghana will face Nigeria in the third-place playoff of the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations on May 28th, as they aim to end the tournament on a positive note.
