Former Ghanaian international, Laryea Kingson, has expressed his hopes and dreams for the future of the Black Starlets, Ghana’s U17 national team.

Kingson, who was recently appointed as the permanent coach of the team, revealed that his ultimate goal is to see his players go on to play for top European clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.

In a recent statement, Kingson emphasized his belief in the potential of his players and his determination to help them reach the highest levels of the game. “I have what it takes. I’ve been in an environment that I’ve developed elite players that are playing in top level,” Kingson stated. “So for me, me coming around, I want tomorrow someone will say, okay, this player is playing in Real Madrid, in Barcelona. They were in the national under-17 team in 2025 and that one will give me joy.”

The Black Starlets are currently in Russia participating in a UEFA 16 tournament as part of their preparations for the 2024 WAFU B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Despite a loss in their opening game to Russia, the team bounced back with an impressive 5-1 victory over Serbia on Friday.
