Former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan, has expressed his willingness to serve as the running mate to NPP flagbearer Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia if given the opportunity. In a recent television interview, the record goal scorer for Ghana’s national team stated that he would not reject such an offer and that it would be an honor for him.
While the question of Asamoah Gyan becoming an NPP running mate remains hypothetical, he highlighted his commitment to using his experience and knowledge from the football world to contribute to the advancement of Ghana’s sports sector. Currently, Gyan serves as the chairman of the Sports Sub-Committee of the Vice President’s Manifesto Committee.
As part of this role, the former Rennes and Sunderland forward is involved in formulating strategic sports policies to enhance the country’s sports sector if Vice President Bawumia is elected as President in the upcoming December presidential election.
