Black Starlets head coach Laryea Kingston has praised Ivory Coast for putting up a tough fight in his team’s 5-1 victory during their opening match at the WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations tournament.

Despite the big win, Kingston emphasized that the Ivorians were not an easy side to beat.

In a post-match interview, Coach Kingston expressed his excitement over the victory, stating that Ghanaians should savor the win as it was a good result against a strong opponent. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the Ivorian team and commended them for their performance on the field.

“It’s a joy. We have to enjoy. It wasn’t an easy game. The Ivorians are not an easy side. They made it difficult for us. We found it difficult to keep the game because of the way they play. I’m excited. Now Ghanaians have to have fun because it’s a good win against a good side,” Kingston said.

Following their impressive victory over Ivory Coast, the Black Starlets will now prepare to face Benin in their upcoming match at the WAFU B U17 Cup of Nations tournament. Ghanaian fans are hopeful that the team will continue their winning streak and advance further in the competition.
