Actresses Issa Rae and Amanda Seales, who co-starred in the popular HBO series Insecure, have been at the center of rumors surrounding their alleged beef. The hit comedy-drama series, which aired from 2016 to 2021, featured Rae as Issa Dee and Seales as Tiffany DuBois.

Recently, Seales opened up about the rumored feud on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, revealing details about a tense situation that occurred at a 2019 Emmys party. Seales claimed that she was denied entry to the event and was later escorted out by security guards, allegedly at the request of Rae’s publicist, Vanessa Anderson.

Despite the incident, Seales expressed that she had always tried to protect Rae in the past, given her important role in the entertainment industry. However, she felt that Rae did not offer her the support she needed during the Emmys debacle.

Seales recounted conversations with Rae following the incident, where the two discussed the situation with Anderson. Seales claimed that Anderson had a personal dislike for her and had started a “smear campaign” against her in the media.

Throughout her time on Insecure, Seales denied rumors of being a “mean girl” on set, emphasizing that she was not in a position to act negatively towards her colleagues. She also mentioned that she stopped talking to Rae close to the show’s conclusion after feeling that Rae was not empowering or supportive of her.

Despite the alleged tension between the two actresses, both Rae and Seales played integral roles in the success of Insecure, with Seales appearing in several episodes of the show’s first season before becoming a series regular in season 2.
