Tom Browning, a former MLB starter, passed away on Monday at the age of 62, according to sources.

According to a statement from the sheriff of Boone County, Kentucky, Browning was discovered to be unconscious, and “resuscitation efforts failed.”

No foul play is suspected in connection with Mr. Browning’s death, the statement continues.

Browning, who was well-liked, originally gained the attention of baseball fans during his lengthy stint as a starting pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds.

He played a significant role in the rotation there, contributing to the team’s 1990 World Series victory.

Other accomplishments included making an All-Star appearance in 1991 and finishing sixth in the Cy Young voting in 1985.

Browning spent 11 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and one with the Kansas City Royals, compiling a record of 123-90, a 3.94 ERA, and precisely 1,000 strikeouts in 1,921 innings.
