Taylor Hawkins was an American musician who lived from February 17, 1972 until March 25, 2022. He was best known as the drummer for the Foo Fighters, a rock band.

He was the touring drummer for Sass Jordan and Alanis Morissette, as well as the drummer in the progressive experimental band Sylvia, before joining the band in 1997.

Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, a side project in which he played drums and sang, was created in 2004. In 2005, the British drumming magazine Rhythm named him “Best Rock Drummer. Hawkins died at 50 on March 25, 2022, according to the Foo Fighters’ official social media profiles. The cause of death was unknown.

Hawkins was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and was not a Canadian, although he drummed for Canadians Alanis Morissette and Sass Jordan early in his career.

.Hawkins grew raised in Laguna Beach, California, where his family moved in 1976.

Hawkins has two siblings: a brother named Jason, and a sister named Heather. In 1990, he graduated from Laguna Beach High School.
