Sofia Daccarett Char, professionally known as Sofia Carson, is well-known as an American actress and singer who was born on April 10, 1993, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S.A.
She made her television debut as a guest star on the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally.
Sofia Carson rose to prominence in 2015 because of her portrayal of Evie in the Disney musical fantasy film Descendants, the daughter of the Evil Queen.
In the sequels of the movie, she later played the part again. Since then, she has appeared in the Netflix love story Purple Hearts (2022).
Is Sofia Carson singing in Purple Hearts?
It was revealed in August 2021 that Carson would star in Purple Hearts and create and sing the soundtrack for it.
In an exclusive conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Carson stated that Netflix and her production team trusted her with the music and to chose her writing collaborators. Justin Tranter was the person she originally contacted.
Since she was eleven years old, Carson has been creating music, but she only did so for herself and not from the perspective of anyone else, she said in an interview with Billboard.
She claims in the interview,
“I was most definitely writing from Cassie’s point of view. We wanted to kind of capture that essence for Cassie, that inspiration would hit based on the things that were happening to her in her life.”
