Sam Claflin is an English actor, born in Ipswich, England, to financial officer Mark J. Claflin and classroom assistant Susan A. (Clarke).

Claflin made his movie debut in 2010 in two critically acclaimed series, The Pillars of the Earth (2010) and Any Human Heart (2010).
In United, he made his acting debut as footballer Duncan Edwards, one of the “Busby Babes” (2011).
After that, Clafin caught the  attention of cinema-goers across the world when he was cast as Philip in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011).
