Gangs are a component of hip-hop culture in some way. Since the advent of “gangster rap” in the late 1980s and early 1990s, many rappers haven’t been afraid to openly identify with the gangs from which they originate.
The Game, who claims to be a member of the Bloods gang, Snoop Dogg, and many more are all considered crips.
It is obvious that this generation has experienced the same output of gangster rap as the 1980s and 1990s, albeit with new types of beats and flows. Even at the height of their stardom, many rappers continue to represent their own gangs.
One of Chicago’s hottest rappers, Polo G, opted to quell fans’ curiosity by tweeting a catchphrase from the city’s gang culture. But anyhow, Gdk,” Capalot tweeted.
Is Polo G a gang member?
The abbreviation GDk stands for “gangster disciple killer.” It is mostly used by “Black Disciples,” a rival gang to the Chicago-based “Gangster Disciples,” whom Chief Keef is rumored to be a member of.
Polo G is probably implying that he is associated with the “Black Disciples” in some way.
