Wallace is not Scottish but rather British.

Following the 2022 United Kingdom government crisis, Wallace was considered a possibility to become the next Conservative Party leader and hence Prime Minister, but he withdrew from the race on July 10, 2022. In a tweet, he stated that he was focused on his present work and “keeping our beautiful country secure.” Later in the campaign, he backed Liz Truss.
