Peter Gregory Obi CON ( born July 19, 1961) is a Nigerian politician and businessman who presided over Anambra from March to November 2006, February to May 2007, and June 2007 to March 2014.
After leaving the Peoples Democratic Party in May 2022, he was nominated by the Labor Party to be Nigeria’s president in the 2023 election.

Peter Gregory Obi is his full name, and he was born in Onitsha, Anambra state.
His loved ones referred to him as “OKWUTE,” which is Yoruba for “ROCK.”
Peter Obi, who was born on July 19, 1961, received his early education in Onitsha, Anambra state.
His secondary education was completed at Christ the King College in Onitsha.
Peter Obi pursued his academic education at the esteemed University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he graduated with a degree in philosophy in 1984.

Peter Obi has a voracious thirst for education and learning.
His desire to learn more led him to leave Nigeria and enroll in prestigious international universities.
He graduated from Kellogg Graduate School of Management in the United States, Oxford University, and Cambridge. He also attended Harvard Business School in Boston, the London School of Economics, Columbia Business School in New York, the Institute for Management and Development in Switzerland, and the London School of Economics where he studied marketing management.

Peter Obi was able to effectively establish a recognized career in business thanks to his intelligence and business sense.
He held several managerial and business positions with a number of illustrious corporations.

Fidelity bank, however is not owned by Peter Obi. Fidelity Bank is rather owned by  some Ghanaian individuals, other institutional investors and its senior executives.

Hero beer is equally not owned by Peter Obi. It is brewed and bottled by Intafact Beverages Limited and owned by SABMiller, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev. Mpa means father in the Igbo language, one of the three main languages in Nigeria. Beer lovers affectionately refer to Hero Beer as “Oh Mpa” as a sign of respect (AB InBev).

The then-governor of Anambra State, where Intafact Beverages Ltd is situated, Peter Obi, is alleged to have assisted in luring SABMiller to invest in the region in 2012 and is also a shareholder.
