Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe is a British-Iranian project manager at the Thomson Reuters Foundation and former BBC employee who was detained on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
She was stopped and grabbed at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport.
She was then charged with planning to destabilize the Iranian regime.
She was imprisoned and held in solitary confinement for months despite pleas to return to the United Kingdom
In 2016, the 43-year-old mother of one was sentenced to five years in prison.
Then, in April 2021, she was sentenced to another year in prison and barred from travelling after being convicted of promoting propaganda.

As it stands, Zaghari-Ratcliffe would be reunited with her husband and seven-year-old daughter since she boarded a plane out of Iran to the United Kingdom earlier today .
According to her relatives, the Revolutionary Guard of Iran attempted to get Nazanin admit to training and recruiting spies, which she refused.
