President Kenyatta has led tributes after Mwai Kibaki’s demise stating that he led the charge to hold the ruling party accountable and had won Kenya‘s abiding esteem and admiration.
Aside from this, the president has proclaimed period of mourning until Mr. Kibaki’s burial is held for all to see.
Many still sense a bond between the late president and Mutahi Kagwe.
This article will straighten that perception as soon as possible.

Is Mutahi Kagwe related to Mwai Kibaki?

Now for starters, Mwai Kibaki was a Kenyan politician, who was the country’s third president from December 2002 to April 2013.

From 1978 to 1988, he was Kenya’s fourth Vice-President, serving under President Daniel Arap Moi for ten years.

He also served in the Kenyatta and Moi governments as a cabinet minister, including as Finance Minister (1969–1981) under Kenyatta and Minister for Home Affairs (1982–1988), and Minister for Health (1988–1991) under Moi.

Hon. Mutahi Kagwe on the other hand is the Republic of Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Health.

On Friday, February 28th, 2020, he took the oath of office. He is a long-serving Kenyan politician who was the county’s first senator.

In the Kenyan Senate, he is also recognized for sponsoring the Cyber Security and Protection Bill.

So aside from Mwaki and Kagwe’s political similarities, they are not related.
