Mickey Gilley, a veteran American country music singer, began his career in the 1970s and ascended to become one of the best American country music singers of all time.

Gilley, who was born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, adored his cousin, Jerry Lee Lewis, a prominent rock and roll singer and musician in the 1950s and early 1960s.
