Madonna Louise Ciccone, commonly known as Madonna, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. She was born on August 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan, to parents Silvio Anthony Ciccone and Madonna Louise Fortin. Madonna’s mother died of breast cancer when she was just five years old, and her father later remarried Joan Gustafson.

Madonna has six siblings. Her older brother, Anthony, is a film producer, and her younger brother, Christopher, is a dancer and choreographer. Madonna also has three younger sisters, Melanie, Paula, and Jennifer, as well as an older half-sister named Mario Ciccone.
