Luciano is a second-generation roots reggae singer from Jamaica. He is 58 years old at the moment.
Luciano began recording in 1992 with his first single “Ebony & Ivory” (on which he was credited as “Stepper John”) on the Aquarius Record label.
He then released a split album with DJ Presley (now credited as “Luciana”) for producer Sky High. Luciano was born in Dayton, Manchester Parish, and was raised as the seventh of nine children in a strict Adventist family.
The No. 1 UK reggae smash from 1993, “Shake It Tonight,” was among the first songs he released under the name Luciano. These were produced by Castro Brown’s New Name Studio, Freddie McGregor, Blacka Dread, and Sly and Robbie.
Is Luciano a Rastafarian?
The lyrics of Luciano, a devoted Rastafarian, emphasize consciousness and avoid slackness or vulgarity, which is frequently present in reggae and dancehall music.
He has criticized other Rastafarian reggae musicians for recording slack music and called them unfocused.
