Leontine Florence Mary Welch, an English singer and Florence, and the Machine’s main vocalist and principal composer, was born on August 28, 1986. Lungs, the group’s first studio album, peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart and took home the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2009.
Their subsequent four albums also found success on the charts. Welch published a book named Useless Magic in 2018 that included her lyrics, poems, and artwork.
