Per rumors, the U.K. Parliament will hold a vote of no confidence on Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday (June 6) evening, which could result in Johnson’s removal from office after he violated the country’s Covid-19 lockdown rules with a series of pandemic-era parties.

Is Boris Johnson still Prime Minister of UK?

The vote was called after at least 54 Conservative members of Parliament who form about 15 percent of the party’s MPs said they had lost faith in Johnson who has been the UK’s Prime Minister since 2019 and still is.

Why vote of confidence in Boris Johnson?

Conservative MPs will vote in secret on Monday on whether or not they have confidence in Johnson’s leadership, and the prime minister will be removed if a simple majority of MPs (at least 180) vote against him.

For Johnson to lose the vote would be disastrous. Very few in Westminster believe it is a real possibility, though nervous Johnson supporters are quick to point out that most of the Parliamentarians are routing behind him.
