The prestigious Tinubu Family of Lagos State gave birth to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos, Nigeria.
He received a spot on the college’s honors list while attending Richard Daley College in Chicago, Illinois.

He then continued on to Chicago State University in Illinois, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting and Management).
He received the Excellent Student’s Award, the University Scholar’s Award, and the Certificate of Merit in Accounting and Finance throughout his undergraduate career.
This brave young man, faced with an unflinching zeal to succeed, immigrated to the United States in 1975. With the support of an ever-adoring mother, he took on menial jobs like dish-washing, night-guarding, and cab-driving to get through the early challenges of school at the Richard Daley College, Chicago, Illinois.
This young Nigerian’s intellect was shown in his ability to make the Richard Daley College honor roll.
Afterwards, he proceeded to Chicago State University in Illinois, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with honors and graduated in 1979. (Accounting and Management).
Young Bola had the unusual opportunity to teach a portion of his Faculty remedial tutoring classes to other students during his first year at Chicago State University.
Bola Tinubu gained professional experience at American-based Arthur Anderson, Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now known as Deloitte Haskins and Touche), and GTE Service Corporation, the largest communication and utility company in the United States of America, after graduating with honors and numerous awards.
The young and experienced Bola broadened his experience while working at Deloitte Haskins and Sells by taking part in the auditing and management consulting services of Fortune 500 companies like General Motors, First National Bank of Chicago, Procter and Gamble, International Harvester, GEC, and others.
After moving back to Nigeria in the early 1980s, he worked as an accountant for Mobil Nigeria before joining politics in 1992 as the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for the Lagos West senate seat.
