Anne Hathaway is an American actress who has appeared in productions such as The Devil Wears Prade, Alice in Wonderland, and Ocean’s 8.
Her recent work is the 2022 Apple TV+ miniseries WeCrashed about the company WeWork. She starred alongside Jared Leto.
Is Anne Hathaway related to Gwyneth Paltrow?
WeCrashed follows the entrepreneurial rise and fall of WeWork. WeWork is one of the world’s most valuable startups founded by Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey.
Anne Hathaway portrays Rebekah Neumann, Adam Neumann’s wife. Rebekah was born Rebekah Paltrow.
If the surname sounds familiar, your guess is about right. Rebekah is related to Gwyneth Paltrow as the two are cousins.
However, Hathaway didn’t speak to Paltrow about her presence in the story, as she didn’t want to put her in that kind of position.
Hathaway explained to TheWrap, “If somebody was playing me, and then I found out they talked to my cousins, it would have rubbed me the wrong way. So I tried to keep everything very respectful and conscious, and tried to proceed in a manner in which, again, if it were me that somebody was doing it to, you know, I would just want everything to be done respectfully, consciously, tentatively, all those things.”
