Aaron Charles Carter was born on December 7, 1987, in Tampa, Florida, to Robert Gene Carter and Jane Elizabeth (Spaulding) Carter. He is Nick Carter’s younger brother and has three sisters (of the Backstreet Boys).
He began his musical career at the age of seven by singing lead for the group “Dead End” for two years. He performed solo for the first time at age 9 in Berlin, Germany, opening up for the Backstreet Boys in March 1997. Following the performance, he signed a record deal, and in the fall of 1997, he released his debut single, “Crush On You.”
Carter and his brother Nick recorded their first duet for the album “Oh, Aaron” when they were barely 13 years old (which was published on August 7, 2001).
The single “Oh, Aaron” and a video/DVD of the same name, which included interviews, music videos, and footage from his Baton Rouge, Louisiana, event from 2001, were both released on March 26, 2002. Along with the release of the record, Play Along Toys created an Aaron Carter action figure.
