Internet users slam Quables over comment against DanceGod Llyod’s TikTok verification

Quables, the former manager of popular Ghanaian Dancer, DanceGod Llyod, has come under fire for his comments on DanceGod Llyod’s TikTok verification. DanceGod Llyod took to Twitter on April 17 to announce his verification as the first Ghanaian dancer on TikTok with over 2 million followers.

Ghanaians flooded the dancer with congratulatory messages and words of encouragement to keep climbing higher in his career. However, Quables, in a subtle tweet, questioned the importance of DanceGod Llyod’s celebration of his TikTok verification.

He tweeted, “In Ghana when a dancer has nothing to do anymore he starts to celebrate verification.” This comment sparked backlash from internet users who viewed it as a toxic attitude towards DanceGod Llyod’s achievements.

One user responded, “He is still better than you anyways…I don’t know your rivalry but you can’t deny DanceGod Lloyd is the biggest in Ghana at the moment.” Another user pointed out that DanceGod Llyod operates in a different realm of grace compared to Quables.

The strained relationship between the duo dates back to 2022 when DanceGod Llyod parted ways with Quables amid allegations of bad blood between the dancer and his colleagues at Dance With Purpose Academy (DWP). DanceGod Llyod’s departure came after he was excluded from performing as a backup dancer for American singer, Usher at the Global Citizen concert.

Quables defended his comment against DanceGod Llyod’s TikTok verification, urging people to ask the dancer about their relationship. He supported his statement with an old video of DanceGod Llyod on Delay’s Show commending him for his guidance at the beginning of his career.
