The new curfew hours will be from 8:00pm to 6:00am starting on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

In a statement released by the Interior Ministry, it urged the chiefs, opinion leaders, youth, and residents of the area to remain calm and use non-violent methods to address any challenges they may face. The goal is to maintain peace and stability in the area amidst the current turmoil.

Additionally, there is a complete prohibition on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within the Bunkpurugu Township and its neighboring areas.

Anyone found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution, according to the statement.
