Accra Great Olympics is on a mission to bounce back after their relegation from the Ghana Premier League last season. With a newly formed three-man management committee in place, led by Kudjoe Fianoo, the immediate focus is on appointing a new head coach.
The decision to dissolve the club’s Management and Technical Teams was announced by board chairman, Amarkai Amarteifio, following their disappointing finish in the league standings. Great Olympics finished 16th out of 18 teams last season, going through three different head coaches in the process.
Fianoo is optimistic about the club’s future but does not expect the newly formed committee to oversee the entire season. They are currently in the process of actively searching for a new coach to lead the team. Once the coach is appointed, the management committee will be formed to handle the day-to-day running of the club.
“We are on the search for a coach. When we get the coach, we will see some named to the Board for consideration and then we will form the management committee that will be in charge of the day to day running of the club. So our mission is to make sure that we fill in the gap as the club prepares to move into Division One,” Fianoo said in an interview.
Great Olympics is determined to turn things around and make a strong comeback in Division One as they aim to reclaim their spot in the Ghana Premier League. With a new head coach set to be appointed soon, the club is working diligently to build a solid foundation for the upcoming season.
