Tariq Lamptey has been replaced by FC Koln defender Kingsley Schindler by Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton.

Before to Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Angola, the Brighton & Hove right-back hoped to recuperate from his injury.

Tariq, however, was unable to recover in time for the match, prompting the national team’s technical staff to make a replacement.

Schindler, who plays for the Bundesliga, has already joined the Black Stars camp in Accra and has been announced as Tariq’s replacement.

This season, the 29-year-old has made 20 appearances in the German top division, playing 35 minutes per match on average.
