Teyana Taylor has addressed rumors surrounding her relationship with basketball player Iman Shumpert, confirming their separation while dispelling allegations of infidelity.
In an Instagram post, Taylor stated that they had separated amicably some time ago and emphasized that infidelity was not the reason for their parting.
The R&B singer and dancer also stressed that they remain the best of friends, great business partners, and effective co-parents to their two children.
Taylor said that they are still a family and have always taken their relationship seriously.
She further revealed that they kept their breakup private to avoid involving their fans and the public, allowing them to separate peacefully.
Taylor expressed concern about the narratives surrounding their separation becoming distorted and decided to clarify the situation.
She concluded by humorously stating that she was taking everyone “back out of the chat.”
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert, who were married for seven years, have two children together.
Their engagement was announced during Taylor’s baby shower in 2015, and they later had a second child in 2020, with Shumpert helping deliver both babies at home.
