Abdul Mumin, the former head coach of Real Tamale United (RTU), has expressed his disappointment and sadness at the club’s decision to terminate his contract. In an interview with Akoma FM, Coach Mumin revealed that he had made sacrifices for the club in an effort to help develop players and move the team forward.

Despite being owed salary and bonuses, Coach Mumin stated that he remained committed to working for the club. He emphasized that the termination of his contract was particularly painful considering all the sacrifices he had made for RTU.

“We reached a mutual agreement for the termination. I couldn’t resign because I am owed a significant amount of money, including unpaid salaries and bonuses from the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. The only payment I received was for March of this year. I believed that we were supposed to focus on developing players and improving the team, but there were times when I wasn’t paid even when the players were compensated. Being accused of match manipulation after all the efforts I put in is truly heartbreaking,” Coach Abdul Mumin explained.

Coach Mumin’s departure from RTU came after allegations of match-fixing following the team’s loss to Nsoatreman FC. Despite the challenges he faced during his time with the club, Coach Mumin remains dedicated to his coaching career and the development of young players. His passion and commitment to the game are evident, and it is hoped that he will find new opportunities to continue making a positive impact in the football world.
