Don K, a popular Afrobeats artist from Kasoa, has threatened legal action against Charterhouse, the organisers of the Ghana Music Awards, if he is not nominated for an award this year.

The nomination period for the 25th edition of the most prestigious musical event is now open. Don K has yet to be nominated, despite making his mark on the Ghanaian music scene with his debut single, “Baba Adey Beg.”

Don K released ‘May3 Dada’, produced by King Odyssey, during the year under review. In an exclusive interview with Ghana Weekend, Don K stated that he would sue Charterhouse if nominations were denied him again:

“You see, I put forth a lot of effort in the year that is being reviewed. I have no idea why I haven’t received a nomination for the GMA yet. I have a great song this year. Verify the caliber of my song. I have a lot of hope that I will be nominated.

When asked what he would do if he wasn’t selected, the “Baba Abeg” singer replied, “Seriously, I would sue the organizers.”I’m going to sue Charterhouse. They can’t let me down again this time.

Don K, real name Matthew Tenkorang, recently released a song called “Wonboo Dam Y3.” Produced by Willis Beatz, the song features Benji, a phenomenal modern highlife musician.
