“I’ll extend the sea to Kumasi when elected President,” promises Cheddar

Leader of The New Force Movement and presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako has boldly promised to build a sea wall between Ghana’s coast and the landlocked Ashanti Region.

Bediako is spending five days in the Ashanti Region as part of his listening trip, a statewide tour.

Referred to as Freedom The business tycoon Jacob Caesar, often known as Cheddar, views this as an essential first step in realizing Ghana’s Eastern and Western Corridors’ full potential to increase global commerce.

Bediako described his idea in an interview with Kojo Marfo on Abusua 96.5 FM in Kumasi. He drew inspiration for the proposal from his observations of other nations expanding their marine transit lines inland.

He cited Dubai’s transition from a desert to a coastal metropolis as an illustration of what was possible.

“Why are we still transporting individual containers by road when the sea could offer a faster and more efficient means?” Bediako asked.

He drew attention to the shortcomings of the existing system, which frequently results in commodities transported by road arriving rotten or damaged after a six-hour drive from Tema Harbour to Kumasi.

Bediako underlined, “I want to open up the infrastructure of the East and Western Corridors.”

“I want to build power stations, energy stations, connect the gas, create industries, and bring technology.”

Ghana was tasked by Bediako, who advocated for a change in focus towards value addition and local manufacturing, with producing electrical devices locally using resources like plastics and lithium.
