I’ll establish a special bank to address your needs – Alan assures traders

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the founder and leader of the Movement for Change, has revealed his plans to prioritize the welfare of traders in Ghana if he is elected as president.

During a visit to the Madina market to show support to traders affected by a recent fire outbreak, Kyerematen stated that one of his first policy interventions would be to establish a dedicated bank for traders. This bank would provide credit and loan facilities to traders, acknowledging the crucial role they play in the country’s development.

Kyerematen emphasized the importance of ensuring the welfare of traders, as a majority of Ghanaians are engaged in trading activities. He proposed the construction of new market centers across the country, with modern facilities such as clinics, childcare centers, and lorry stations. By providing incentives to the private sector to build these market centers, Kyerematen believes that traders will have access to a safe and conducive environment for their businesses.

The current market infrastructure, according to Kyerematen, does not adequately support commerce and trading activities. He assured that under his leadership, the government would work closely with the private sector to improve market infrastructure and provide necessary facilities for traders.
